Layers of packing...

I said my goodbyes yesterday at school, which was bitter sweet, and today was a day of running around doing last minute errands, going to the bank, going to a variety of stores to get those things that have been getting added to my 'to buy' and 'to do' list over the last weeks, sorting through the mountain of clothing that's been piling up, doing laundry...it is hard to know what to bring on a trip to a place I've never been to, and a place that is so, so far away. I have heard the weather will be similar to the weather in New York City, but that just means unpredictable. So, the operative word is 'layers'. There are layers of clothes, outerwear and emotions which I have been packing all day. And I'm not done yet. Tomorrow is the last New York City day and if I don't pack something that I need, well, I will either do without or hunt for it in Tokyo. And that is kind of a fun prospect. Maybe I will purposely not bring toothpaste just so I have to go out and buy Japanese toothpaste. I usually do that when I travel. Over the years I have bought Italian toothpaste, French toothpaste, Swiss toothpaste, Spanish toothpaste. So far I like the Italian the best. I wonder if Japanese toothpaste tastes like sushi? Pickled ginger toothpaste might be kind of cool.
So, check out the weather in Tokyo, see how kid's live in Japan and visit the virtual art museum I have added to this blog.
I know those are fun links, but make sure you visit me to.
